1 dead, 15 hurt in Long Island bus crash

<div id="subtitle">Police: 1 dead, 15 injured in Long Island bus crash when vehicle runs stop sign</div><div><p>Police say a collision between a bus and another vehicle on eastern Long Island killed one person and slightly injured 15 others.</p><p>The crash Tuesday morning involved a Suffolk County Transit bus carrying 14 passengers. The passengers and the bus driver were taken to hospitals.</p><p>The driver of the other vehicle was killed; he was identified as 21-year-old Michael Brown of Greenport.</p><p>The crash happened around 7:40 a.m. near Northampton. Police say it appears Brown drove his compact car through a stop sign and was hit by the bus.</p><p>The rural area of Long Island is about 75 miles east of Manhattan.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=68328005&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
