Ready for Quinn's Big Speech

<div><p>Red Room Council Chambers right now waiting for Christine Quinn’s State of the City speech, in which she'll propose generating $1 billion in tax revenue from people who make more than $300,000 and eliminating income taxes on low-wage earners.</p><p>
Former Council speakers Gifford Miller (with no tie!) and Peter Vallone Sr. were posing for pictures and hugging well-wishers by the podium; Deputy Mayor Ed Skyler grabbed a seat in the front row; Eric Gioia’s former aide Triada Stampas is over in the wings; Ed Koch walked in to a few shouts of “mayor!” and one television reporter told me that in nearly a decade of covering city politics, he’s covering the Speaker’s State of the City Speech for the first time.</p><p> </p><p> </p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=42691937&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
