June 19, 2007. 1:16 a.m. Ian and other new recruits at Fort Benning are instructed to separate their recently issued Army gear from their personal clothing, which they wont see again for months. Later, they are shown to the barracks, where they have only 45 minutes of down time to rest before a 4:30 a.m. rise to continue the intake process.
